Season Two of “The Toxic People Detox” Podcast to Start in Late May

Dr. Shayla D. Williams, host of The Toxic People Detox podcast, launched her show in 2017 to help people deal with toxic relationships with family, friends, coworkers, and bosses.  The podcast is centered on changing one’s mindset about how to handle toxic and difficult people. She covers topics such as staying centered in an argument, dealing with toxic family members/co-workers/bosses, and mental toughness. Dr. Williams believes that many people focus more on toxic people than trying to create an amazing life for themselves.  After three years of mostly hosting the show solo, Dr. Williams has opened up her podcast to expert guests.

“I’m excited about the experts across many fields that are interested in sharing their wisdom with my audience,” says Dr. Williams.

Her first guest will be Faust A. Ruggiero author of “The Fix Yourself Handbook.” Ruggiero’s professional career spans almost 40 years, and is diversified and compelling, as it has consistently established new cutting-edge counseling programs in its pursuit of professional excellence and personal life enhancement. He is a published research author, clinical trainer, and a therapist who has worked in settings that have included clinics for deaf children, prisons, nursing homes, substance abuse centers, inpatient facilities, and as the President of the Community Psychological Center in Bangor, Pennsylvania. In that capacity, he developed the Process Way of Life counseling program, and has developed it into a formal text presented in the Fix Yourself Handbook.

The topic is about being careful with who comes into someone’s life.  Ruggiero says, “Your life is special to you…  You want to have control over that… We all should have criteria in our lives which tell us what a person should have and not have in order to get close to us.  We should have that pretty well set in our minds.”

When asked about why it is often difficult to diagnose our own problems, Ruggiero states, “When you’re getting into situations where you’re talking about boundaries and toxic people, it’s often hard to separate fact from fiction.”

Look for future guests such as entrepreneurs, speakers, and mental health experts.  This podcast promises to empower listeners with the tools to deal effectively with any future confrontations by toxic people. Dr. Shayla believes that many people focus more on their toxic situation rather than trying to create an amazing life for themselves.
