Christian Care Ministry/Medi-Share celebrated its 4th Annual Day of Sharing

Christian Care Ministry/Medi-Share, America’s most trusted healthcare sharing ministry, partnered with 20 non-profit organizations for its Fourth Annual Day of Sharing, October 2, 2021. More than 200 employees and their families used their off time on a Saturday to serve organizations in Brevard County, Florida and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

City of Melbourne Mayor, Paul Alfrey and a representative from Senator Debbie Mayfield’s office both presented Proclamations recognizing Christian Care Ministry’s Day of Sharing, acknowledging the acts of service of employees in their local communities.

“It’s early this morning and everybody is ready to jump in their community and do some hard work.. It takes a community to run a community. This is a prime example of that.”- Melbourne Mayor Paul Alfrey

Christian Care Ministry is as a community of believers who share each other’s health care burdens through the Medi-Share program. As a faith-based organization, their commitment to sharing is also reflected in service to others, by nearly   700 employees nationwide. Medi-Share local employees will volunteer at: Bridges for Peace, Community Gospel Truth Church, Brevard Zoo, Salvation Army, Daily Bread, American Police Hall of Fame, Central Brevard Sharing Center, Canaveral Port Ministry, The DOCK, Liberty Bell Museum, Brevard Humane Society, Walk on Water Ministries, Genesis House, CITA, Life Recaptured, Love Inc. Marine Resource Council, RFM Christian Academy, Creel Elementary, University Park Elementary. Colorado employees teamed up with COSILoveYou to serve in the Colorado Springs area.

Christian Care Ministry’s Chief Executive Officer Scott Reddig shares, “ It’s a blessing to see employees come together to meet the needs of our local service organizations, including the Dorcas Outreach Center for Kids, a faith-based after-school haven, where I worked with a team on some cleanup projects. These organizations in our communities are doing a lot of good, with limited resources, so it’s a privilege to help in some small way.”

Employees serve the local community year-round as part of the ministry’s formalized volunteer program. They receive up to three days off each year for volunteer service and many use this time to serve local churches, ministries, and other community organizations. Last year alone, employees donated more than 4,000 hours in their local communities.

Love Inc.’s Finance Lead and Resource Coordinator, Kassie Perot shares, “I love that Christian Care Ministry represents the heart of the church with their willingness to serve in their community. We need more people like this!”
