ATA Martial Arts of Pittsboro Takes New Name and Brand

ATA Martial Arts of Pittsboro, headquartered in Pittsboro, North Carolina, is taking on a new name.

Now called Chatham ATA Martial Arts, the re-brand is effective immediately.

“When we opened our school in 2018, we were focused on serving the town of Pittsboro,” says founder Alex Changho. “However, as we learned that there were other areas wanting great martial arts classes, we expanded and suddenly we found a lot of our students were elsewhere in Chatham County, as well as in Chapel Hill and Carrboro.”

Chatham ATA Martial Arts offers group martial arts and self-defense classes for children and adults. The youngest students are ages 3 or 4. Their specialty is traditional martial arts with Taekwondo classes, a Korean martial art.

They also hold classes for adults. Fitness Kickboxing is based off of boxing and muay thai movements, performed in a class striking punching bags for weight loss and toning.

Krav Maga is also offered. Krav Maga is an Israeli self-defense training program that forms the basis of the basic training for the Israeli Defense Forces.

Chatham ATA Martial Arts is part of the American Taekwondo Association (ATA) which has over 900 affiliates in the United States.
